Views from Steamboat Resort

After a long day of skiing the thing to do is hit the apres ski scene! You’re on vacation and you deserve a beer. Here are our favorite spots you’ll want to check out:

 Slopeside Grill

Slopeside Grill is one of the most popular après ski spots on the mountain.  Outside Magazine even named it the best in Steamboat. It is located just up from the base area in Torrian Plum Plaza.  If you’re facing the mountain it is on your left. It’ll be hard to miss all the people relaxing on “The Beach” in plastic chairs as you make your way down from the last run of the day. Slopeside Grill is a family-friendly restaurant featuring local and domestic beer selections and a large menu that’s sure to satisfy the whole crew.  We recommend trying one of the brick oven pizzas.   There is live music most weekends and during the springtime they build a full service ice bar.  So ski on over to Slopeside and “hang with the Big Dogs.”

T-Bar

If local dive bars are your thing then T-Bar is the place for you.  Often described as a “5-star dive bar” it is also located just up from the base area, right above Slopeside Grill on the left side of the mountain. It has a rowdy atmosphere and you’re sure to meet a local playing hammerschlagen… don’t worry, if you don’t know how to play, they will teach you.  Loser buys the next round, no excuses.  T-Bar placed 14th out of 30 on SkiCurbed.com list of 30 Hottest Après Ski Spots in North America!  T-Bar has $3 Pabst Blue Ribbon tallboy cans and a very unique food menu.  The Chorizo Mac&Cheese and Peanut Butter Bacon Panini are two of the most popular entrées.  If you choose to stop in, just remember one thing…don’t ring the bell or you’ll be buying shots for the whole bar!

Truffle Pig

For a more relaxing and upscale atmosphere you will enjoy Truffle Pig.  It is located in the base village right behind the Ticket Office and adjacent to One Steamboat Place.  “T-Pig”, as the locals call it, has an amazing happy hour featuring $2.50 Fat Tire and $3 Session beers as well as discounted wine and margaritas.  They also have a happy hour food menu.  Do yourself a favor and try the Truffle Fries. This spot is not ski in/ski out so you’ll want to ditch those skis and maybe your boots before heading over. With a great view of the mountain, Truffle Pig is a great spot to catch the Alpen Glow when the sun begins to set.
