5 Rockin’ Shows Remain at the 20th Annual Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series

March kicks off one of the most exciting times of the year with things to do in Steamboat for locals and worldwide visitors alike! Whether you’re a guest from afar on your annual ski trip, a Weekend Warrior from the Front Range looking to let loose or a Steamboat native with a touch of “cabin fever,” the diverse blend of upbeat shows in the lineup for the 2019 Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series will be sure to stir up some spring party vibes.

The main stage in Steamboat’s renowned Gondola Square will play host to each of the free shows every Saturday for the remainder of the season, with a bonus Sunday show added on Steamboat’s April 14th closing day. All shows are set to begin at the après-ski prime time of 3:30pm. Grab a drink at one of the beer booths and join the main crowd or post up a little early and snag a table on Timber & Torch’s brand new raised terrace for the best view in the square.

No matter how you decide to join the fun, Steamboat’s Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series is the perfect activity to welcome the warm return of spring to our Colorado mountain-town tundra!

Freddy Jones Band – Saturday, March 23rd

The Freddy Jones Band has been bringing a classic touch of Southern rock and blues wherever they go since the early 1990s. While their time-honored sound hasn’t changed, these seasoned veterans know how to put on a new and fresh show no matter how many years go by!

Southern Avenue – Saturday, March 30th

Named after an iconic street in their home town of Memphis, Southern Avenue figured out how to combine their traditional Gospel roots with a blend of modern R&B and Soul. Their tendency to also wow crowds with their powerful drumming displays is always a fan-favorite!

The Commonheart – Saturday, April 6th

This group is known for representing their Pittsburgh roots through the powerful instrumentals and high energy of their 9-piece band. With their enticing Blues, Soul and Gospel sound, The Commonheart will provide a dynamic and compelling performance that’ll be sure to get even the most tired of ski legs swaying!

Magic Giant – Saturday, April 13th

After a breakout performance at last year’s Coachella festival launched them into the spotlight, Billboard listed Magic Giant as one of the “10 Awesome Bands” of the entire festival. This small trio succeeds at providing big sound with a megamix of alternative, pop and folk beats. Need another reason to love these guys? Their recently released LP was recorded from their solar-powered mobile recording studio while traveling all over the US. How cool is that?!

The Wailers – Sunday, April 14thCLOSING DAY!

Where in the world are The Wailers? Why Steamboat, of course! What has become an annual tradition in Steamboat continues to live on, as The Wailers return to close out the 2018-2019 ski season! While this group needs little introduction to many, The Wailers joined Bob Marley throughout the 70s to take the genre to new heights. Including several original members, this eight-piece band endlessly shares the spirit and sound of Reggae’s most timeless legend.
