Free Music is an Annual Tradition in Steamboat Springs

For the 25th consecutive year , Steamboat Springs is “Keepin’ It Free” for everyone’s favorite friendly gathering of the summer. Starting June 30th, the city of Steamboat Springs continues it’s annual Free Summer Concerts and this years line up is one that’s sure to excite. 

Get ready to rock The Boat’ through a blend of nationally recognized artists from the world of funk, bluegrass, jazz, reggae, and jam-rock amongst food and refreshments from local sponsors. Round up the family and stroll over to Howelsen Park to see why this all ages event has stood the test of time and continues to boast an average of 25,000 total attendees.

The five show series extends through the summer with performances on Saturday nights from 5:30pm – 9 pm; excluding for the highly anticipated “End of Summer Jam” on Sunday, September 2nd.

SFSC is a cherished event by locals that presents a unique opportunity for visitors too. In our eyes it’s the ideal sociable event for free, all-out fun that’s guaranteed to enhance your summer plans.

Bring a blanket or chairs and sprawl out in comfort on the large lawn beneath historic Howelsen Hill ski area with its prized mountain and famous ski jumps as the backdrop to the professional quality stage. Enjoy food and drink selections from a variety of local vendors including Skull Creek Greek, Butcherknife Brewery, and more.

Tips for the Shows

  • There’s an ATM on site if cash is desired.
  • Credit cards are accepted by all vendors for food and non-alcoholic drinks. Drink tokens need to be purchased if buying alcoholic drinks with a credit card. 
  • Cash is accepted by all vendors including alcoholic drink purchases.
  • Ear plugs/muffs are advised for small children and there’s an open play area and park nearby to extricate energy.
  • Gates open at 5:30 as the opening acts take the stage with main acts performing until 9 – 9:15 pm.
