Steamboat Winter Carnival    February 8-12, 2017

The Steamboat Winter Carnival is a great time to celebrate everything that makes Steamboat special.  The weekend highlights include a Street Carnival and a spectacular fireworks display.  Lincoln Avenue will be covered with snow (believe it not, they bring it in by the truck load and cover the street) and one of our favorite things to watch are our local athletes being pulled on skis behind horses.  You can also check out the variety of ice sculptures all along Lincoln Avenue.  This is an event you can’t miss!   A Winter Carnival button can be purchased for $10 and  gives access to all the special events.  Click here for more information.

 


 

 

Steamboat Ski Resort Torchlight Parade and Fireworks   February 14, 2017

Looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart?   The Steamboat Snowsports School members will be holding a torchlight parade and fireworks on the mountain. This is a free event and will be fun for all ages.

 


 

 

WinterWonderGrass  February 23-26, 2017    Steamboat Ski Resort

This fantastic gathering will feature some of the best musicians around and will celebrate bluegrass and craft beer.  The event includes a free welcome party, Farm to Table dinner, music workshops and mid-mountain jam sessions.  Click here for more information.

 


 

Steamboat Mardi Gras   February 23-28, 2017   Steamboat Ski Resort

Mardi Gras week will include free concerts, parades and various parties on the mountain.  The origins of Mardi Gras can be traced all the way back to medieval Europe. passing through Rome and Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries and Steamboat celebrates it in style every year.  There will be an all-day celebration with a snow sculpture contest and restaurant specials.

 


 

Gipsy Moon  Free Concert   February 23, 2017   Steamboat Ski Resort

Gipsy Moon is an innovative folk group that will be performing a free concert on the Gondola Square stage (base area of Steamboat Ski Resort)  on February 23rd.  They offer a full spectrum of musical styles and will be a great entertainment option for the whole family beginning at 2:30 pm.

 


 

STARS Mountain Challenge   March 3- 4, 2017   Steamboat Ski Resort

STARS is the Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports Program.  Its’ mission is to empower and enrich lives through adaptive recreational sports.  This annual racing event attracts folks from all over the country for a fabulous weekend of skiing, entertainment, food and fun.  Visit the STARS website for more information.  You can also learn more about the great camps they offer throughout the year.

 


 

Yampatika:  Uranium Mine SnowShoe Tour   March 17, 2017

This special snowshoe tour is offered to anyone ages 12 and up.  The group will meet at the Upper parking lot of Fish Creek Falls and the tour will follow along the beautiful Fish Creek Canyon.  This program is offered in partnership with the US Forest Service and registration is required by calling (970) 871-9151.

 


 

Behind the Scenes Tour  March 22, 2017   Tread of Pioneers Museum

If you enjoy history, you’ll love this event!   Stop by the Tread of Pioneers Museum at 800 Oak Street and go behind-the-scenes with the Curator to see preserved artifacts.  This is a free event starting at 3 pm and the tour takes approximately thirty minutes.
