They say, “nothing in life is free” but when it comes to summer concerts in The Boat we have a different approach. We are “keeping it free” for the 25th year in a row. Over the years Steamboat Free Concert Series has hosted a talented array of musicians preforming FREE concerts from the likes of Jonny Lang to Ziggy Marley to The Infamous Stringdusters and this year is no different.
Grab your lawn chairs or a blanket and get to Howelsen Hill Amphitheater early to claim a front row spot. Local food trucks and beer vendors are set up around the parameter of the grounds so come thirsty or hungry or even better, BOTH! There’s even a playground for the little ones.
Gates open at 5:30 pm and each concert starts with an opening band to pump up the crowd for the main act. Happy hour pricing on beer is from 5:30-6:00 pm. The concerts usually last until 9:15 pm. Each year there is a fundraiser put on by the Keepin’ it Free Summer Concert Committee where the highly anticipated line-up makes its debut. The line up was released just a few weeks ago and boy it’s a great one.
