Steamboat Lodging Company Policies

As a full-service vacation rental management company, the following policies and procedures have been put in place to ensure quality service for both our guests and the property owners of our properties.

Guest Policies

  • Check-in for all homes is 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 10:00 a.m. We will try to accommodate an early check-in/late check-out, but that is not always possible. Our staff won't know if it's possible until 24 hours inside your check-in/check-out time.
  • The guest who makes the reservation must be 25 years old and staying at the property for the duration of the stay. Steamboat Lodging Company has the right to verify a guests age and cancel a reservation, subject to our cancellation policy, if age fraud is discovered.
  • Unless otherwise noted, all our properties are not pet friendly. Pet friendly properties will allow one dog with a $25 per night fee.
  • There is no smoking inside or on the premises of any of our properties.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel a confirmed reservation, please call us as at 970-457-4785 soon as you know.

  • Bookings cancelled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund.
  • Bookings cancelled at least 30 days before the start of stay will receive 50% refund.
  • Bookings cancelled 29 or fewer days before start of stay will not receive any refund.
  • If you booked your stay through a third party (Vrbo, Airbnb, Steamboat Resort/Central Reservations), please reference their specific cancellation policies.
After booking your reservation, you will have 24 hours to cancel with no penalty, unless your stay has already begun. We strongly encourage you to purchase our vacation insurance which will protect your vacation investment against unforeseen circumstances. If you purchased the optional Travel Insurance, that insurance premium will not be refunded. Details below about our Travel Insurance policies.

Health & Safety Policy

These health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from hand-washing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures. Specific steps we are taking include:

How We're Keeping Our Guests Clean & Safe:

  • Properties: We use CDC approved cleaning and disinfecting products and protocols to clean homes after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. 
  • Contactless Check-In: All of our properties are equipped with contactless check-in and most have smart keypads. You will be given an entry code when your property is clean & ready for arrival.
  • Products: Properties are stocked with essential products to keep you clean & safe including paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, cleaning products, laundry detergent & hand soap.
  • Laundry: All linens are cleaned through our company owned laundry facilities with commercial cleaning standards including 140 degree hot water. Nothing is sent to an outside vendor.

How We're Keeping Our Staff Clean & Safe:

Our employees – and their own health, safety and knowledge – are essential to an effective cleaning program. Here are some ways we’re supporting them:

  • Hand Hygiene: Proper and frequent hand-washing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. In our daily meetings, our teams are reminded that cleanliness starts with this simple act.
  • Safety: All employees will wear gloves and a mask when entering properties.
  • Ongoing Training: Continuous training on housekeeping and hygiene protocols for staff.
  • Employee Workspaces: In the spaces where associates work “behind the scenes,” we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like associate entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms and staff offices.
  • Health Checks: Employees are monitoring their temperatures & any illness related symptoms daily and will not resume work until all symptoms have passed.

Travel Insurance

We know that something abrupt can change your travel plans overnight whether it's weather related, illness for your or your travelling companions (COVID-19 included), job loss or worse. In partnership with Rental Guardian, we are pleased to offer our guests Vacation Rental Travel Protection. This Travel Protection program is a great way to protect your vacation purchase in the case of an unexpected emergency situation.

Cost for the Cancel For Any Reason (default option) is 10.8% of the total cost of your booked lodging. Purchase eligibility if trip arrival is more than 30 days, the policy can be purchased within 15 days of booking. CFAR is not available for any trips with an arrival of less than 30 days. Coverage includes all the benefits of the standard plan (below) at 100% claim benefit for covered reasons. You can also cancel your trip for any reason, outside of the coverage benefits, and receive 75% of trip cost. See policy sample here and choose the state you live in.

Standard travel protection is available for 7% of the total cost of your booked lodging. Eligible to purchase if trip arrival is more than 30 days then it can be purchased at any time. If trip arrival is less than 30 days, policy must be purchased within 5 days of booking date. Coverage includes Weather Related - Hurricane/Mandatory evacuation, Illness/Injury (including COVID-19 sickness or quarantine), Job Loss, Mandated Work, and more. These policies are offered to all guests when they pay their rental deposit, and coverage starts the next day after purchase. Contact the Rental Guardian offices to receive a complete Description of Coverage document. Once Travel Protection has been purchased, you receive a 10 day 'free look' period; after this time period, it is considered accepted and is non-refundable. Travel Protection can be added at the time of booking or outside of 30 days prior to your arrival. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance, please be advised of our cancellation terms detailed above.

Rental Agreement

When you book a vacation rental with Steamboat Lodging Company, you are agreeing to the rental terms and conditions outlined in our Vacation Rental Agreement. You will be emailed a copy of the rental agreement at the time of booking, and may review the details of our rental agreement below.
