Literary Sojourn

The 33rd annual author festival presented by Bud Werner Memorial Library brings five acclaimed writers to one stage for a single afternoon. The 2026 lineup features Kiran Desai, Adam Johnson, Katie Kitamura, Susan Orlean, and Maria Reva, with Ron Charles hosting. Tickets sell online only and go fast.
Run Rabbit Run 50 & 100 Mile
- Location: Steamboat Resort base area, 2305 Mt. Werner Circle
- Starts: 6:00 AM
- Ends: 11:59 PM
One of the world's richest 100-mile trail races climbs Mount Werner, crosses the Continental Divide toward Rabbit Ears Peak, and loops over Emerald Mountain. Spectating is free and the aspens usually peak the same weekend. The 100-mile course carries roughly 22,000 feet of climbing.

Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market
- Location: Yampa Street between 5th and 8th Streets, downtown
- Starts: 9:00 AM
- Ends: 2:00 PM
More than 150 vendors line the Yampa River each Saturday morning with local produce, buffalo, beef, eggs, seafood, baked goods, and handmade crafts. Live music and food trucks fill the street. Bring the kids to the Guest Experience Tent for a market bingo sheet, then eat lunch riverside.
