Sissa's Chalet is a gorgeous stand alone home, one of a few located beneath the path of the gondola in Steamboat Springs. This unique family home is within walking distance of the Base Area, and just a stone's throw from the nearest ski in/ski out slope. While staying at Sissa's Chalet, you have the option to either walk approximately 75 yards to the snow's edge or simply schedule our winter ski shuttle service to pick you up, the world is your oyster. This enviable location in Steamboat cannot be beat!This historical ski chalet is bursting with character and charm. Start the day with a little morning coffee on the deck while watching the suns rays across the Yampa Valley and on the gorgeous Flattop Mountains in the distance. As the Gondola cars gently sweep up the hillside, make your way to the mountain for first dibs on some of that legendary Steamboat Champagne Powder. At Sissa's Chalet, it's easy to ski home for a quick lunch or apres ski drink since you're so close to the slopes! When you've enjoyed enough turns for the day, you'll love being the envy of other skiers as you head home to your own little haven on the mountain.As the evening draws in, cozy up in the downstairs lounge and catch a movie on the flat screen TV, chat with your group in front of the wood burning stove style fireplace, soak in the private hot tub, or wrap up in a blanket and tip-toe out to the deck to see if you can spot any wildlife quietly passing by. Ready to turn in for the night? Head into one of the four plush bedrooms spanning three floors. You'll find a Queen Suite on the entry level with a full ensuite bathroom. Head to the main level for the bunk room featuring a Twin over Twin bunk bed with a Twin trundle, and head across the hall for the King bedroom with a shared bathroom with hallway access. Ready to see something special? Head upstairs to the upper level King Primary Suite featuring a gas fireplace, sweeping panoramic mountain views, and a private living area. We usually stay at ski in/ski out places, but the free shuttle was super easy, very quick response and ended up adding quite a value to our trip experience. They were at our house for pickup within about 4-5 min and drove us down to the base. It was very easy and comfortable. They also took us around tow for groceries, stores? And the downtown area.

The house is an older home with some recent cosmetic upgrades. Shuttle service was awesome!!- we shuttled to the ski base every morning-( did not use any ski access trails- bit of a walk and from above some looked less ski and more walk. Bedding was comfortable and I loved that the kitchen had a gas stove!!! Washer and dryer on the first level was handy. Hot tub was a nice touch for the end of day relaxation! No problems encountered!

By Holly, Posted: 04/09/2024What a darling home! There is no TV in the main living space but that is preferred by us. There's one to enjoy in the lounge downstairs. Fantastic boot dryers in the garage and loads of space to get gear drying.....so great and thoughtful! An actual yard right at the base of the resort too....really fun! Also loved that all 9 of us could sit comfortably at the same table together. Thank you!

We had three families and it allowed each of us to have our own floor. We had everything we needed at all times. The hot tub outside in the snow was amazing. If you have a large group and want fantastic accommodations I recommend Sissa’s Chalet!

We loved the hot tub and views from the deck on the main level. We were here for the gravel race, and loved having a garage for our bikes! Would definitely come back!

It's summer so it was a little hot but the management company had fans going when we arrived and that helped a lot. The kitchen had everything we needed. I'd love to come back during the winter. I bet the views from the upper level master are amazing when snow is on the trees. Overall it was a 10/10 stay!

By Dace, Posted: 05/16/2022We booked Sissa's Chalet via Steamboat Lodging Company this spring for a last minute guys trip. The location was excellent for some last minute spring skiing and since the weather was nice, we could walk down to the shops & restaurants at the bottom of the slopes. We cooked at home for a few meals and the kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were really nice. We used the hot tub a lot and enjoyed the star gazing and the views from the deck of the surrounding mountains are incredible. The bedrooms were laid out perfectly for our group and the bedding was clean and new. Also, we loved the ski season shuttle to get us to the slopes. With more snow, you can walk right over to the slopes to get on and at the end of the day almost ski home, but since it was the end of the season, that access wasn't navigable. This home feels very Steamboat and we loved every minute of it.

By Dace, Posted: 04/21/2022We stayed at Sissa's Chalet just before the ski area closed (for closing weekend) and loved it. This is a genuine on-mountain home that's about 150 yards to the slopes, so not ski in/ ski out, but a manageable walk, even with gear & kids. We loved the layout of the house with the large upstairs bedroom suite and second lounge downstairs for the kids. Hot tub was clean & warm and a great place to watch the stars. Since we were the first group to stay in this home, Steamboat Lodging Company checked in with us regularly to make sure our stay was enjoyable (which it was!). We used the shuttle quite a bit and when there was a short delay in pick-up time, Taylor, the driver, made sure to stay in touch with us about it. Overall, great Steamboat vacation home!
