This year marks the 20th anniversary of Haymaker Golf Course in the Yampa Valley and there are many reasons that this course is a par above the rest. This course offers 233 acres and it is city-owned. It has been described as a “core golf course built for golfers”. The course features at least four sets of tees per hole, 360° views of the Yampa Valley and Mount Werner, and good green size with different cupping positions. Whether you are a pro or beginner, there is space for all ability levels complete with a practice area, driving range, sand trap, plus a chipping and putting green. Also noteworthy is that Haymaker was the first golf course in Colorado to achieve Audubon International Signature certification. This means that during construction and present day operations, Haymaker minimalizes stresses put on the natural environment by means of preservation and following a comprehensive list of Best Management Practices to mitigate against the potentially destructive effects of golf operations.
