Snowmobiling

One of the best ways to explore the Routt County backcountry & wilderness is on a powerful snowmobile with experienced guides to show you the ropes. It’s time to explore our winter wonderland!

Sleigh & Horseback Rides

There is something so peaceful about a sleigh ride at night with the sounds of the horses dashing through the snow, their bells jingling and the dark starry night surrounding you.

  • Steamboat Resorts – Typically offering a few different sleigh ride options, but make sure to call to see what the current availability is this season.
    • Haymaker Sleigh Ride Dinner – Bring your entire group for a horse-drawn sleigh ride dashing through the snow and ending with a four-course dinner.
    • Ragnars Sleigh Ride Dinner – Ride up the Gondola and take a snowcat-driven sleigh to Rendezvous Lodge for a five-course Scandinavian inspired dinner.
    • Four Points Snowcat Dinner – No horses in this sleigh ride! Cruise to 9,000 feet in an authentic snowcat and enjoy a traditional Italian dinner at Four Points Lodge.
  • Del's Triangle 3 Ranch - Take in the north country, just 30 minutes from Steamboat with a horseback ride tour and/or snow buggy tours.

Snow Tubing

Snow Tubing is a fun, family-friendly way to get the adrenaline pumping, day or night.

  • Saddleback Ranch - One of the best places to tube in the valley. Take their shuttle (a fun school bus) out to the Ranch and enjoy snacks and drinks while taking a ride on the 3+ tracks.
  • Howelsen Hill - One never forgets the exhilaration of sledding growing up! Tube Howelsen shares that same excitement and brings tubing thrills to the slopes while enjoying Steamboat Springs' hometown ski hill. Families and kids of all ages will slide into winter in a new way creating memories that will last a lifetime!
