The 2026/27 season runs from Saturday, November 21, 2026 into spring. Read on for what kind of mountain access makes sense for your trip.

Daily Lift Tickets

Simplify your trip to Ski Town, U.S.A. by buying single or multi-day lift tickets in advance and hitting the slopes the moment you arrive. Prices shift with demand and rise as the date approaches, so book early for the best rate.

Local's Tip: you can buy an afternoon lift ticket. Early Afternoon Lift Tickets can be purchased online in advance right up until the day of your visit. Late Afternoon Lift Tickets are only sold onsite. Both include night skiing on eligible evenings, which makes them excellent value on arrival days, departure days, or a first day when altitude catches up with you around lunchtime.

Night Lift Tickets

Night skiing at Steamboat is genuinely special. The slopes come alive under the lights and it works for every ability level, with beautifully lit trails and a completely different feel from the daytime mountain. Night skiing runs 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Christie Peak Express on eligible evenings.

It is also one of the better value tickets on the mountain, and a great option for families whose kids are done by mid-afternoon but keen to get back out after a break.

Season Pass Options: The Ikon Pass

Steamboat is an Ikon Pass destination, and for 26/27 the Ikon family covers 76 destinations worldwide across the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

Ikon Pass

The full pass. Unlimited skiing at Steamboat with no blackout dates, plus access to the entire 76-destination network. If you are skiing Steamboat for more than about a week, or combining it with trips to other Ikon mountains, this is usually the math that works.

Ikon Base Pass

The value option. Up to 5 days at Steamboat, with access to most of the network and select blackout dates.

Steamboat blackout dates for 26/27 Ikon Base Pass holders:

December 26 to 30, 2026
January 16 to 17, 2027
February 13 to 14, 2027

Read that list before you buy. If your trip is Christmas week or Presidents' Day weekend, the Base Pass will not work and the savings are irrelevant. Note also that the Ikon Base Pass is non-refundable.

Ikon Session Passes

For skiing a handful of days rather than a full season. Lock in a set number of days across the Ikon network, used wherever and whenever you like within the season. Blackout dates apply.

What Your Ikon Pass Actually Gets You At Steamboat

This is the part most passholders never fully use. Worth knowing:

Unlimited night skiing with the Ikon Pass, on any night that night skiing is operating. Take your pass straight to the Christie Peak Lift. Important detail: if you ski during the day and again that night at the same destination, it counts as one day, not two. Ikon Base Pass holders can ski at night on any day they have used.
First Tracks. Ikon Pass holders get to be first on the mountain on December 18, 2026, January 15, 2027, February 8, 2027, March 8, 2027, and April 3, 2027. Board the Wild Blue Gondola between 8:00 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Set a reminder, because this is the best perk on the list and almost nobody uses it.
20% off equipment rentals booked in advance online through Steamboat Sports, rising to 30% off during the early and late season windows. Base area locations, scheduled fittings, and complimentary overnight ski and snowboard storage.
Discounted tuning at the Steamboat Tune & Repair Shop in the base area.
Friends and Family tickets at 25% off the one-day window rate. Ikon Pass holders get 15 tickets, Ikon Base Pass holders get 10. Blackout dates apply for Base and Session passes.
Retail and food discounts at Steamboat and other Alterra resorts, at 15% for Ikon Pass holders and 10% for Base Pass holders. Excludes alcohol and hard goods.

Ways To Save On a 26/27 Ikon Pass

The Squad Pack. New this season. Riders aged 23 to 28 lock in an Ikon Base Pass for $800, a saving of $219 each, when one person buys five passes for the group in a single transaction.
Family savings. Up to $100 off each child pass with the purchase of an adult Ikon Pass, or $50 off each child pass with an adult Ikon Base Pass.
Payment plans. Ikon offers flexible plans with as little as $0 down at 0% APR.
Pass insurance. Worth considering. Without it, passes are not refundable or transferable, including if you are injured.
Buy early. Ikon pricing is lowest when passes first go on sale in spring and climbs through the fall.

Which Option Is Right For You?

Skiing 1 to 3 days: day tickets bought in advance, or an afternoon ticket if your schedule is tight. Do not buy at the window.
Skiing 4 to 5 days, avoiding holiday weeks: the Ikon Base Pass is usually the sweet spot. Check those blackout dates first.
Skiing 5 or more days, or traveling over Christmas or Presidents' Day: the full Ikon Pass.
Skiing a few days across multiple mountains: an Ikon Session Pass.
